If Karl Neesens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. KVSK Mariakerke's Louis-Philippe Schellekens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Neesens in the 21st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bill Brabant's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Louis-Philippe Schellekens was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Philippe-Arnaud Biesen got free with Roel Schouters in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Sint Haecht getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Laureano Hubieta hit a great ball. When Karl Neesens came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Sint Haecht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Neesens couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the match, Sint Haecht's Karl Neesens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Louis-Philippe Schellekens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Giovanny Kortens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Louis-Philippe Schellekens. KVSK Mariakerke's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giovanny Kortens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Roel Schouters stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lionel Matthieu's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. After 43 minutes, Bill Brabant made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. KVSK Mariakerke's Louis-Philippe Schellekens tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 47th minute, Laureano Hubieta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giovanny Kortens was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel Matthieu in the 52nd minute of play forced Sint Haecht's goalkeeper Roel Schouters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bill Brabant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 56 played minutes Sint Haecht got a freekick which was hit by Carl Terhorst. The crowd rose to their feet as Sint Haecht's Bill Brabant slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Louis-Philippe Schellekens. That made the score 0-6 after 58 minutes of play. KVSK Mariakerke's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Karl Neesens scored to the left of an out of position Louis-Philippe Schellekens, making the score, 0-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bill Brabant got free with Louis-Philippe Schellekens in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Giovanny Kortens struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Louis-Philippe Schellekens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sint Haecht. Sint Haecht made a substitution. Sylvain Van der Loock replaced Bill Brabant. When Karl Neesens came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Sint Haecht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Neesens couldn't finish the play. If Philippe-Arnaud Biesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Niel Kloots took a quick shot and it went in 1-8 without a chance for Louis-Philippe Schellekens to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Laureano Hubieta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sint Haecht's supporters rose to their feet, but Laureano Hubieta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Louis-Philippe Schellekens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, KVSK Mariakerke's goal looked a bit too open when Giovanny Kortens came free, but Louis-Philippe Schellekens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Mattias Van de Weijer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A collision led to Sint Haecht getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Laureano Hubieta hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinard Smidts in the 94th minute of play forced Sint Haecht's goalkeeper Roel Schouters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sint Haecht played a much better game than KVSK Mariakerke and deserved their victory. The KVSK Mariakerke players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
