After 12 minutes of play, BXL Haren's Benedict De Vaddere made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Smets was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thomas Smets stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benedict De Vaddere's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Benedict De Vaddere scored 1-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomas Smets, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benedict De Vaddere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Smets having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Benedict De Vaddere's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thomas Smets was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Thomas Smets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedict De Vaddere, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Benedict De Vaddere made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Benedict De Vaddere lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Thomas Smets. After some careless play in the Eine defense, Radu Nedelea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomas Smets. The Eine fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Smets should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedict De Vaddere got free with Thomas Smets in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 68 minutes, Benedict De Vaddere made it 1-7 with a short kick to the right side. Eine 's Thomas Smets tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Baekelandt struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Thomas Smets didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BXL Haren. Eine 's Thomas Smets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedict De Vaddere in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Eine 's goal looked a bit too open when Benedict De Vaddere came free, but Thomas Smets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Smets had great luck who in the 79thth minute grab hold of the ball when Benedict De Vaddere from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The corner led BXL Haren's Carlos Baekelandt to fire away a dangerous shot which Thomas Smets despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedict De Vaddere in the 88th minute of play forced Eine 's goalkeeper Thomas Smets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Eine booed when BXL Haren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenz Van De Wiele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lorenz Van De Wiele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Thomas Smets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
