Spectators: 6697 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1697, VIP seats: 0) Dominik Steenbecks started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Joe Swiggers kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Dries De Loose showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robby Jans in the 8th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, VC Strijpen's Lucas Deswarte got a free kick in the 9th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Ciney:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VC Strijpen:s goal. In the 12th minute there was a penalty for VC Strijpen. Joannes Deckers stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dries De Loose. 1-0. After 15 played minutes VC Strijpen got a freekick which was hit by Amaury Schols. Gustave Roscams hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Robby Jans was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. VC Strijpen's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ciney's zone, Claus Susters stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dries De Loose came out of the goal and Claus Susters tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricky Bernaerts charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricky Bernaerts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 25 played minutes Ciney got a freekick which was hit by Ricky Bernaerts. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Jerom Gijselinghs managed to get in a good position for a shot. VC Strijpen's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerom Gijselinghs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dries De Loose breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robbe Petermans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dany Reijers having to interfere. Dominik Steenbecks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Dany Reijers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciney's Dries De Loose proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ciney from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the match, Ciney's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Jans came free, but Dries De Loose reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th match minute, Ciney was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yoeri Susters to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Robby Jans in the 53rd minute of play forced Ciney's goalkeeper Dries De Loose to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dries De Loose took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robby Jans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dany Reijers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robbe Petermans in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Robby Jans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dries De Loose was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. VC Strijpen's Robby Jans got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Ciney's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Jans came free, but Dries De Loose reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute Robby Jans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dries De Loose saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 72 minutes, Robbe Petermans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robbe Petermans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, VC Strijpen's goal looked a bit too open when Dominik Steenbecks came free, but Dany Reijers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dominik Steenbecks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Dany Reijers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Robby Jans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerom Gijselinghs in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dries De Loose prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The VC Strijpen fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ciney had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
