Spectators: 6701 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1701, VIP seats: 0) Mellier sport's Gill Buelens started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Robby Jans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel van Haghten having to interfere. Gill Buelens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dany Reijers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Bauwens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wannes Vollens hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Joannes Deckers managed to get in a good position for a shot. VC Strijpen's supporters rose to their feet, but Joannes Deckers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel van Haghten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 14 minutes, Robby Jans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VC Strijpen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robby Jans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jerom Gijselinghs was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 16th minute. VC Strijpen's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robby Jans in the 17th minute of play forced Mellier sport's goalkeeper Miguel van Haghten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mellier sport's Miguel van Haghten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claus Susters in the 20th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, VC Strijpen's goal looked a bit too open when Gill Buelens came free, but Dany Reijers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Robby Jans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amaury Schols hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Miguel van Haghten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robby Jans in the 39th minute of the match. Mellier sport's Miguel van Haghten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Mellier sport from getting a goal against them. When Jerom Gijselinghs came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the VC Strijpen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerom Gijselinghs couldn't finish the play. Robby Jans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robby Jans to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of VC Strijpen booed when Mellier sport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gill Buelens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wannes Vollens thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Miguel van Haghten, a very annoying self made goal in the 60th minute which led to 1-0. When Martin Bauwens came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Mellier sport fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Bauwens couldn't finish the play. Robby Jans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Miguel van Haghten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robby Jans in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel van Haghten prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amaury Schols was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Amaury Schols kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Martin Bauwens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jerom Gijselinghs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel van Haghten having to interfere. After 90 minutes of play, VC Strijpen's Jerom Gijselinghs made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel van Haghten was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miguel van Haghten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerom Gijselinghs, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Lucas Deswarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Miguel van Haghten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 98th minute Jerom Gijselinghs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel van Haghten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VC Strijpen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
