Thommy Lemmens started the match with the kick off. In the 10th minute Anthoon Abeloos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignace Marchal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ignace Marchal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthoon Abeloos in the 15th minute of the match. If Thommy Lemmens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to AFC Vijverhoek getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Sebastien Eijkens hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes AFC Vijverhoek got a freekick which was hit by Francois Maerschalck. 25 minutes into the match, Lotenhulle's Mark Meersmans broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Gilian Kest might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norbert Adams. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilian Kest ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steffe Hensmans during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Steffe Hensmans hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Norbert Adams was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Jan Landewijck capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jan Landewijck really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 34th match minute, AFC Vijverhoek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Balthazar Stevens to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes in the game, Jan Landewijck dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Anthoon Abeloos scored 1-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ignace Marchal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jan Landewijck to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernard Wans hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Thommy Lemmens took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Ignace Marchal to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as AFC Vijverhoek's Thommy Lemmens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ignace Marchal. That made the score 1-3 after 60 minutes of play. The supporters of Lotenhulle booed when AFC Vijverhoek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francois Maerschalck didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, AFC Vijverhoek's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Landewijck came free, but Norbert Adams reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Landewijck succeeded in the game's 68th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-3. A collision led to Lotenhulle getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Karel-Jan Holemans hit a great ball. Gilian Kest's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norbert Adams read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. AFC Vijverhoek's Francois Maerschalck pulled a muscle in his leg after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Bernard Wans charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernard Wans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st minute, Bernard Wans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norbert Adams took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Landewijck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norbert Adams came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Lotenhulle's Gilian Kest. But to his dismay, Gilian Kest quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. Anthoon Abeloos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AFC Vijverhoek eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
