In the 24th minute of the match Kenneth Verdonck sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wannes Demuynck skillfully saved the ball. When Alexandre Vervaet came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the KFC Ipsvoorde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Vervaet couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reinaud Pelleman to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Ignace De Paepe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Ipsvoorde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jonge-Warriors the free kick. Reinaud Pelleman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wannes Demuynck having to interfere.
