The supporters of Zelzate booed when Red Star Waasland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Will Van Den Bosch didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Red Star Waasland's goal looked a bit too open when Ief Valckenaers came free, but Loid Meulders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toon Moors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Dimitris Germanos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dimitris Germanos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joost De Raeijmaecker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dimitris Germanos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toon Moors in the 27th minute. A collision led to Zelzate getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Jorg Maeijnaerts hit a great ball. Dimitris Germanos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Manny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Stig Polmach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Loid Meulders showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ief Valckenaers, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig Polmach in the 35th minute of play forced Red Star Waasland's goalkeeper Loid Meulders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Manuel Manny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Toon Moors recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zelzate's Dimitris Germanos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toon Moors in the 56th minute of play. If Manuel Manny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 58th minute, Rene Sielis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Loid Meulders made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig Polmach in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Zelzate's Ief Valckenaers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Loid Meulders made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Loid Meulders was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stig Polmach showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 68 minute of play. Toon Moors fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitris Germanos having to interfere. In the 74thth minute of the game Manuel Manny who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zelzate's Dimitris Germanos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 傅铮广 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. The tension between the Zelzate and the Red Star Waasland players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, Bernd Sellekaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Jakob Van Caels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitris Germanos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, 傅铮广 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dimitris Germanos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Manny in the 87th minute of play. Toon Moors took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dimitris Germanos. Dimitris Germanos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Toon Moors in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dimitris Germanos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Despite being the better team, Red Star Waasland failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
