Jan-Simon Van Achtens hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Trognee's Abraham Hunaerts couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 4th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Herve. After a defensive mix-up in FC Herve's zone, Patrik Van Mellaert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philipp Temmerman came out of the goal and Patrik Van Mellaert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Imbreghts in the 7th minute of play forced FC Herve's goalkeeper Philipp Temmerman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francois Quintens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 14thth minute of the game Gert-Jan Antheunis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trognee's Felix Maerschalck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 16th minute, Francois Quintens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Herve fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Francois Quintens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Felix Maerschalck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Maerschalck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert-Jan Antheunis in the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Francois Quintens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Herve fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 37 minutes into the match, Trognee's Patrik Van Mellaert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philipp Temmerman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felix Maerschalck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert-Jan Antheunis, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Patrik Van Mellaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gert-Jan Antheunis to make the kick off. Bruno Raymaekers hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. If Gert-Jan Antheunis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cederique De Messemaeckre hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Johannes Imbreghts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trognee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johannes Imbreghts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrik Van Mellaert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Maerschalck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert-Jan Antheunis, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, Patrik Van Mellaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johannes Imbreghts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 86 minutes Trognee's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cederique Strupar who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Trognee's goalie and right to Cederique De Messemaeckre. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Trognee's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Philipp Temmerman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johannes Imbreghts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
