Robert Van Der Eyde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Kenney Godefroid made a huge save. Klaus Maseur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivo De Mijer made a kick off. Kenney Godefroid came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by KFC Herdersem's Robert Van Der Eyde. But to his dismay, Robert Van Der Eyde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Kenney Godefroid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Van Der Eyde, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After some careless play in the KSV Merenhoek defense, Robert Van Der Eyde kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenney Godefroid. The KSV Merenhoek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenney Godefroid should have stopped the shot. Robert Van Der Eyde hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Herdersem's zone, Godfried De Wortelaers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filip Pietrowicz came out of the goal and Godfried De Wortelaers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. KSV Merenhoek's Kenney Godefroid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Van Der Eyde in the 82nd minute of play. In the 89th minute, Robert Van Der Eyde left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Herdersem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. KFC Herdersem's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
