Jens vrolijx stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan-Simon Van Cleijnenbreugel's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. With 8 minutes on the clock, Kamiel Franckx commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 7 minutes into the game, one of Elixir:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave KAA Assesse a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marten Van Cleijnenbruegel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Elixir's Benjamin Stuckens. 1-0. Jean-Louis Aerts hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, KAA Assesse's Marten Van Cleijnenbruegel got a free kick in the 15th minute. Jan-Simon Van Cleijnenbreugel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens vrolijx having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Isidoor Van Hermenghem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of KAA Assesse booed when Elixir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoor Van Hermenghem didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elixir's Aime Van Engelen has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 33rd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aime Van Engelen to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind KAA Assesse's goalkeeper Jens vrolijx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aime Van Engelen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens vrolijx having to interfere. After 72 minutes, Wes Paelinck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KAA Assesse and the Elixir players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Elixir booed when KAA Assesse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wes Paelinck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aime Van Engelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Jan-Simon Van Cleijnenbreugel fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jens vrolijx, passed just outside the right post. After 87 played minutes KAA Assesse got a freekick which was hit by Fred Van Deijck. If Aime Van Engelen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 91st minute, Carlos De Muysere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benjamin Stuckens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanny De Munck in the 93rd minute of play.
