Adam Van Den Broeck came out and tried to block the shot, but Xander-Paul Heijligem slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Daan Godts kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Union's zone, Leon Heirremans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dany-Adams De Bruyn came out of the goal and Leon Heirremans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adam Van Den Broeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xander-Paul Heijligem, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When Leon Heirremans came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the KFC Herentals fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leon Heirremans couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the match, KFC Herentals's goalkeeper Adam Van Den Broeck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorden Musseeuw. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Herentals's zone, Jorden Musseeuw stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adam Van Den Broeck came out of the goal and Jorden Musseeuw tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the match, Union's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Heirremans came free, but Dany-Adams De Bruyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeroen Iven during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Union's Jeroen Iven got a free kick in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Union's goal looked a bit too open when Achilles Van Kestbeek came free, but Dany-Adams De Bruyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adam Van Den Broeck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xander-Paul Heijligem's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Jorden Musseeuw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Adam Van Den Broeck made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reinard De Beer made a kick off. Daan Godts hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Leon Heirremans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Dany-Adams De Bruyn made a huge save. After having played for 61 minutes, Xander-Paul Heijligem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Union's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xander-Paul Heijligem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adam Van Den Broeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorden Musseeuw, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Herentals's zone, Xander-Paul Heijligem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adam Van Den Broeck came out of the goal and Xander-Paul Heijligem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xander-Paul Heijligem in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adam Van Den Broeck saved KFC Herentals from getting behind. In the 69th minute, Jesse Leerbels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Heirremans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dany-Adams De Bruyn having to interfere. If Xander-Paul Heijligem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adam Van Den Broeck came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Union's Jorden Musseeuw. But to his dismay, Jorden Musseeuw quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Adam Van Den Broeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xander-Paul Heijligem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Achilles Van Kestbeek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xander-Paul Heijligem in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adam Van Den Broeck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adam Van Den Broeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorden Musseeuw, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Union's Xander-Paul Heijligem got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Jorden Musseeuw had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adam Van Den Broeck. KFC Herentals's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorden Musseeuw was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Union fans cheered their team off the field, for while KFC Herentals had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
