Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dany Matthys started the match with the kick off. Gwenn Verduyckt hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Phillipe Wiechgers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Mathieu Herinckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, A.F. Neerem's Phillipe Wiechgers dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Jo Huytterhoeven had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan Hoes. A.F. Neerem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jo Huytterhoeven was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Dany Matthys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Dany Matthys's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Hoes was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. The supporters of Jabbeke booed when A.F. Neerem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niels Van Engelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dany Matthys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Hoes having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Jabbeke's Jo Huytterhoeven sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Hoes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jo Huytterhoeven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th match minute, A.F. Neerem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niels Van Engelen to maneuver through the defense. A.F. Neerem's Jan Hoes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dany Matthys in the 39th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Jabbeke's zone, Phillipe Wiechgers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathieu Herinckx came out of the goal and Phillipe Wiechgers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mathieu Herinckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillipe Wiechgers in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phillipe Wiechgers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bert Engelborghs in the 54th minute of play forced Jabbeke's goalkeeper Mathieu Herinckx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierrot Roosendael's late challenge caught a A.F. Neerem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pierrot Roosendael helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of A.F. Neerem booed when Jabbeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierrot Roosendael didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bert Engelborghs struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Mathieu Herinckx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.F. Neerem. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bert Engelborghs in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mathieu Herinckx saved Jabbeke from getting behind. 62 minutes into the game, Jo Huytterhoeven cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jan Hoes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 71st minute Phillipe Wiechgers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathieu Herinckx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dany Matthys recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mathieu Herinckx came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by A.F. Neerem's Phillipe Wiechgers. But to his dismay, Phillipe Wiechgers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. If Dany Matthys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jabbeke's Jo Huytterhoeven got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. A.F. Neerem had won after a very even match.
