Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the game, DFC United Colors's Kurt Jespers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kevin Gendre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Kevin Gendre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurenz Coenens in the 14th minute of play. krc genk's Kevin Gendre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robrecht De Cerpel in the 16th minute of play. Kurt Jespers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Gendre having to interfere. Laurenz Coenens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Kurt Jespers made a precise shot to the right of Kevin Gendre. krc genk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Laurenz Coenens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Kevin Gendre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Kurt Jespers managed to get in a good position for a shot. DFC United Colors's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurt Jespers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Gendre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kevin Gendre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Jespers in the 44th minute of play. Kevin Gendre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adolphe Wuets went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After the first half DFC United Colors were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laurenz Coenens was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match, Laurenz Coenens tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kevin Gendre saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 63rd minute Constantijn Teunens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jordi Maenhout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. krc genk's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christoffel Reijers in the 65th minute. A nice corner shot did that Christoffel Reijers got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jordi Maenhout quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. krc genk's Kevin Gendre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save krc genk from getting a goal against them. 72 minutes into the match, krc genk's goal looked a bit too open when Laurenz Coenens came free, but Kevin Gendre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robrecht Rymenans hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laurenz Coenens in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kevin Gendre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Laurenz Coenens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Gendre having to interfere. In the 90thth minute of the game Laurenz Coenens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but krc genk's Kevin Gendre was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. DFC United Colors played a much better game than krc genk and deserved their victory. The krc genk players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
