Hendrik Heijlen might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lennart Verengen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hendrik Heijlen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 16th minute, Luka Vrijdags got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18th minute, Ief De Scheper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 20 minutes into the match, FC Pouri's goal looked a bit too open when Ief De Scheper came free, but Ernest Teunens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Hendrik Heijlen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Lennart Verengen, passed just outside the right post. Luka Vrijdags received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Lennart Verengen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lennart Verengen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luka Vrijdags, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Pouri's goalkeeper Ernest Teunens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ief De Scheper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ernest Teunens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ief De Scheper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ief De Scheper in the 45th minute of play forced FC Pouri's goalkeeper Ernest Teunens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebbe Van Linthoudt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luka Vrijdags to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebbe Van Linthoudt in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Pouri's goalkeeper Ernest Teunens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Pouri booed when FC Sint-Truiden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudi Docx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sylven Koppen kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. FC Pouri's Ernest Teunens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudi Docx in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, FC Sint-Truiden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Van De Wyngaert to maneuver through the defense. Ief De Scheper was extremely unlucky when he, in the 74th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jannic Kerkhofs hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. FC Sint-Truiden's Raymond Van De Wyngaert couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 77th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Pouri. 84 minutes into the match, FC Sint-Truiden's goal looked a bit too open when Hendrik Heijlen came free, but Lennart Verengen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Pouri's Jannic Kerkhofs got a free kick in the 88th minute. If Luka Vrijdags had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Sint-Truiden walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
