The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas De Worteler got free with Georges-Philippe Degens in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Evert-Jan Wery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bad Beat United's Georges-Philippe Degens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert-Jan Wery in the 13th minute of play. If Richey Cempeners had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Weegschede's zone, Richey Cempeners stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Van den Plas came out of the goal and Richey Cempeners tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Luk Cuelens made the kick off in the second half. If Luk Cuelens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richey Cempeners received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Marcus Van den Plas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Georges-Philippe Degens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Weegschede. In the 64th minute Jonas De Worteler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georges-Philippe Degens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas De Worteler took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Georges-Philippe Degens. Georges-Philippe Degens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Richey Cempeners received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Marcus Van den Plas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Emmanuel Frans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bad Beat United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Weegschede the free kick. After having played for 83 minutes, Thomas-Jan Driesen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Weegschede's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas-Jan Driesen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Bad Beat United's zone, Evert-Jan Wery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Georges-Philippe Degens came out of the goal and Evert-Jan Wery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Richey Cempeners came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Bad Beat United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richey Cempeners couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Marcus Van den Plas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 95th minute, Steffen Van Hoyvelt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bad Beat United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
