The supporters of Weegschede booed when KV Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christof Van der Vloedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evert-Jan Wery couldn't finish the play. A collision led to KV Mechelen getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Christof Van der Vloedt hit a great ball. If Evert-Jan Wery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert-Jan Wery in the 28th minute of play forced KV Mechelen's goalkeeper Kevin Blommaert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gill Cesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Van den Plas having to interfere. After having played for 36 minutes, Arnauld Godts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Mechelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnauld Godts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastien Vercouteren during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 38th match minute, Weegschede was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastien Vercouteren to maneuver through the defense. Steffen Van Hoyvelt hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evert-Jan Wery to make the kick off. Kevin Blommaert was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Viktor Hollanders capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Viktor Hollanders really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Steffen Van Hoyvelt hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Gill Cesters scored 1-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcus Van den Plas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Weegschede's Marcus Van den Plas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gill Cesters in the 76th minute of play. Arnauld Godts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Van den Plas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnauld Godts in the 94th minute of play forced Weegschede's goalkeeper Marcus Van den Plas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
