The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, KFC Waalshoek's goal looked a bit too open when Matthias Van Severen came free, but Yanis Oliviers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bart Lenaerts charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bart Lenaerts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bart Lenaerts kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes KFC Waalshoek got a freekick which was hit by Pierrot Haentjens. In the 8th minute, Arthur-Maurits Wortelers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, FC Twiztid's Yanis Oliviers threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Matthias Van Severen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in FC Twiztid's zone, Pierrot Haentjens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wart Van den Berchen came out of the goal and Pierrot Haentjens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wart Van den Berchen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierrot Haentjens's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute Pierrot Haentjens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wart Van den Berchen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, KFC Waalshoek's Yanis Oliviers got control of the ball when Bruno Moreau tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by KFC Waalshoek's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Benoit Oelemans was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Twiztid's players had a chance to rest. Benoit Oelemans made a great header on FC Twiztid's corner, it was just that KFC Waalshoek's Yanis Oliviers managed to reach the ball for a save. Adam Naegels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Yanis Oliviers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Twiztid's Bart Lenaerts got his second yellow card of the match in the 27th minute. The referee ordered Bart Lenaerts off the ground. In the 28th match minute, FC Twiztid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bart Lenaerts to maneuver through the defense. Wart Van den Berchen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Daneels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Albert Daneels ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wart Van den Berchen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, KFC Waalshoek's Pierrot Haentjens got a free kick in the 46th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Bruno Moreau could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which Yanis Oliviers however easily saved by the left post.

The wind increased when Bruno Moreau made the kick off in the second half. When Adam Naegels fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Twiztid's protests and gave Adam Naegels a yellow card for diving instead. Adam Naegels hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After having played for 62 minutes, Pierrot Haentjens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Waalshoek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierrot Haentjens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Pierrot Haentjens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wart Van den Berchen was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of KFC Waalshoek:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Twiztid:s goal. Wart Van den Berchen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arsene De Raedemaecker went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Albert Daneels blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wart Van den Berchen having to make a save. KFC Waalshoek's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
