The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Florian Herinckx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Edwin De Weijngaerden made a huge save. In the 12th minute, Diederick Lannoye left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC SKALPEL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Aaron Steckens charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Steckens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th match minute, KOG STASEGEM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Steckens to maneuver through the defense. FC SKALPEL's Diederick Lannoye got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute Tijs Van Huele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jullian De Geutter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin De Weijngaerden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Vissenaekens, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Jannic Vermeiren charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of KOG STASEGEM booed when FC SKALPEL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jannic Vermeiren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FC SKALPEL's Marten Grootjans got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Tijs Van Huele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, KOG STASEGEM's Jerome Sellekaers got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 46th match minute, FC SKALPEL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jannic Vermeiren to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The supporters of FC SKALPEL booed when KOG STASEGEM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirk Van Dessen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jullian De Geutter was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Remie Van Beylen. Edwin De Weijngaerden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Steckens, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Jullian De Geutter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tijs Van Huele's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. 62 minutes into the match, FC SKALPEL's Diederick Lannoye sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jullian De Geutter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Florian Herinckx struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Edwin De Weijngaerden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KOG STASEGEM. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC SKALPEL's goalkeeper Edwin De Weijngaerden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diederick Lannoye recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florian Herinckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin De Weijngaerden having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Tijs Van Huele managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC SKALPEL's supporters rose to their feet, but Tijs Van Huele was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jullian De Geutter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diederick Lannoye sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tijs Van Huele charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tijs Van Huele the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 92 played minutes FC SKALPEL got a freekick which was hit by Tijs Van Huele. In the 93rd minute Bryan Vissenaekens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin De Weijngaerden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
