Tommi Nagels might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ward Snyers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tommi Nagels ran back to his position shaking his head. Johan De Vleeschauwer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Niels De Wyngaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KAA Grandmenil's Robrecht Baecke got a free kick in the 17th minute. Ward Snyers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoor Van Geertruyen in the 18th minute. After 21 played minutes Azkals CF got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Huysmans. Nils Van Beneden scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niels De Wyngaert, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johan De Vleeschauwer in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niels De Wyngaert saved Azkals CF from getting behind. Johan De Vleeschauwer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Niels De Wyngaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, Azkals CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas-Jan Van Gertsuyden to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Johan De Vleeschauwer to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the KAA Grandmenil defense, Tommi Nagels kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ward Snyers. The KAA Grandmenil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ward Snyers should have stopped the shot. In the 56th minute, Yanne Quinet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ward Snyers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arthur Huysmans went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Nils Van Beneden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesar Decoster's late challenge caught a KAA Grandmenil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesar Decoster helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes Azkals CF got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Decoster. Johan De Vleeschauwer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Niels De Wyngaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niels De Wyngaert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johan De Vleeschauwer in the 69th minute of the match. Ward Snyers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
