Manuel Maerschalck went to the wrong direction when Joseph Van Hespen was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Ronald Tombeurs hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Thomas-Jan Valkeneers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joseph Smidts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thibau Wijnants recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lars Van Hoeijveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Manuel Maerschalck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AA Buffalo's Joseph Smidts got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. KAA Hombeek's Lars Van Hoeijveldt pulled a muscle in his leg after 24 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in AA Buffalo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Thibau Wijnants got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Manuel Maerschalck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thibau Wijnants in the 33rd minute of the match. Joseph Smidts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Thomas-Jan Valkeneers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th match minute, KAA Hombeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bastian Godet to maneuver through the defense. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas-Jan Valkeneers, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Thibau Wijnants recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Karel-Jan Scheppers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70thth minute of the game Joseph Smidts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KAA Hombeek's Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sylven de Vleeschouwer kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Joseph Smidts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs having to interfere. When Thomas-Jan Valkeneers came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the AA Buffalo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas-Jan Valkeneers couldn't finish the play. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Smidts, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, KAA Hombeek's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Smidts came free, but Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. KAA Hombeek's Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save KAA Hombeek from getting a goal against them. 88 minutes into the match, KAA Hombeek's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Smidts came free, but Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Thomas-Jan Valkeneers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. KAA Hombeek's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
