Constantijn Dejonghe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulus De Raedemaeker having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Verhaert in the 5th minute of play forced Wetteren's goalkeeper Paulus De Raedemaeker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 5 played minutes Wetteren got a freekick which was hit by Bart Van Leemputten. Loid Van de Weijer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Maerschalks having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Wetteren's Guy Maerschalks threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Steve Langendonck, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 12 minutes into the game, Loid Van de Weijer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Guy Maerschalks was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. MESUDIYEFT's Guy Maerschalks proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save MESUDIYEFT from getting a goal against them. Lorenzo Sens kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Guy Maerschalks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steve Langendonck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulus De Raedemaeker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Verhaert in the 38th minute of the match. When Bart Van Leemputten fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wetteren's protests and gave Bart Van Leemputten a yellow card for diving instead. Bart Van Leemputten hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the game, one of Wetteren:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave MESUDIYEFT a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Axel Van Cleijnenbreughel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Wetteren's Paulus De Raedemaeker. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Steve Langendonck made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Wetteren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robby Van Haechten to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the match, Victor Verhaert dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paulus De Raedemaeker, 2-2. When Bart Van Leemputten was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 58 minutes had been played. Bart Van Leemputten hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute Victor Verhaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulus De Raedemaeker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Verhaert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wetteren's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Victor Verhaert 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. Lorenzo Sens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantijn Dejonghe might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulus De Raedemaeker. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Constantijn Dejonghe ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulus De Raedemaeker didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Constantijn Dejonghe went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. The supporters of MESUDIYEFT booed when Wetteren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Langendonck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Verhaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulus De Raedemaeker having to interfere. Constantijn Dejonghe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Loid Van de Weijer charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Loid Van de Weijer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 93 minutes into the game, when Francois Martens put in a rough tackle. 92 minutes into the game, one of Wetteren:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
