But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mattijs De Mijer couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattijs De Mijer in the 10th minute of play forced KAA Hombeek's goalkeeper Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Biali Arianie's goalkeeper Michael Lanckneus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lars Van Hoeijveldt. Michael Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thibau Wijnants, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 17th minute, Oswald de Pelsmaeker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute Thibau Wijnants shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Lanckneus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Biali Arianie's Francois Uyttebroeck got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Francois Uyttebroeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs having to interfere. Michael Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thibau Wijnants, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 41st match minute, KAA Hombeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karel-Jan Scheppers to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in KAA Hombeek's zone, Francois Uyttebroeck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs came out of the goal and Francois Uyttebroeck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Thibau Wijnants fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KAA Hombeek's protests and gave Thibau Wijnants a yellow card for diving instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thibau Wijnants made a kick off. A hard shot 62 in the game by Francois Uyttebroeck from a close distance when the talented Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs managed to make a qualified save. KAA Hombeek's players were relieved. Michael Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thibau Wijnants, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Thibau Wijnants fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Lanckneus having to interfere. After 78 minutes of play, KAA Hombeek's Thibau Wijnants made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Michael Lanckneus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Francois Uyttebroeck's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs firmly grabbed it by the left post. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattijs De Mijer, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Mattijs De Mijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biali Arianie's supporters rose to their feet, but Mattijs De Mijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd minute of the match Joseph Van Hespen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Lanckneus skillfully saved the ball. Michael Lanckneus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Van Hoeijveldt in the 94th minute of play. Many of Biali Arianie's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Biali Arianie may have spent more time on the ball, but KAA Hombeek were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
