Cedrik Van der Veeren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Valckeners, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Cedrik Van der Veeren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giovanni Valckeners went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Cedrik Van der Veeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gust Roggen in the 10th minute of play. Cedrik Van der Veeren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gust Roggen in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Tommas Himschoot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gust Roggen in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cedrik Van der Veeren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Giovanni Valckeners had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. KV Mechelen's Cedrik Van der Veeren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gust Roggen in the 18th minute of play. When Edward Tarka came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the KV Mechelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Tarka couldn't finish the play. Coruscant United's Gust Roggen got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 27 minutes, Werner Neefs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Mechelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Werner Neefs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reinaert Thielens hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Edward Tarka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederick Vercalsteren having to interfere. Edward Tarka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Frederick Vercalsteren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The KV Mechelen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Coruscant United were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Tarka to strike the kick off in the second half. Tommas Himschoot's late challenge caught a Coruscant United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommas Himschoot helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to KV Mechelen getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Tommas Himschoot hit a great ball. Gust Roggen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Tarka might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frederick Vercalsteren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Tarka ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Coruscant United's zone, Werner Neefs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederick Vercalsteren came out of the goal and Werner Neefs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 61 minutes, Werner Neefs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KV Mechelen and the Coruscant United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Coruscant United booed when KV Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Werner Neefs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cedrik Van der Veeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gust Roggen in the 63rd minute of play. Giovanni Valckeners could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Cedrik Van der Veeren made a huge save. With a little luck, KV Mechelen's Cedrik Van der Veeren got control of the ball when Giovanni Valckeners tried to sneak it across the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Edward Tarka notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Coruscant United's Frederick Vercalsteren. Frederick Vercalsteren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Frederick Vercalsteren came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by KV Mechelen's Edward Tarka. But to his dismay, Edward Tarka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Kim Rymenans, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Edward Tarka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederick Vercalsteren having to interfere. When KV Mechelen's Werner Neefs in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Cedrik Van der Veeren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gust Roggen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frederick Vercalsteren came out of the goal and Edward Tarka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that KV Mechelen were the better team. KV Mechelen's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
