Tony Coekelberghs came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cedrik Van der Veeren could save by the left post. Cedrik Van der Veeren came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by K. Olsa Brakel's Martijn Calstermans. But to his dismay, Martijn Calstermans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Tony Coekelberghs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Cedrik Van der Veeren made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tony Coekelberghs got free with Cedrik Van der Veeren in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cedrik Van der Veeren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tony Coekelberghs in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Jannes De Koster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diederick Spoelberch got his second yellow card in the match during the 32nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for KV Mechelen. Edward Tarka stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lennart Mathy. 1-2. Jannes De Koster charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jannes De Koster the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, Jannes De Koster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of KV Mechelen booed when K. Olsa Brakel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Van Kestbeek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Edward Tarka managed to get in a good position for a shot. KV Mechelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Tarka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Mathy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edward Tarka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Kim Rymenans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lennart Mathy was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tony Coekelberghs to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Tony Coekelberghs managed to get in a good position for a shot. K. Olsa Brakel's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Coekelberghs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cedrik Van der Veeren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 55th play minutes Jeff Van Kestbeek shot 2-3, a short shot which went by Cedrik Van der Veeren and just under the crossbar into goal. Cedrik Van der Veeren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeff Van Kestbeek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony Coekelberghs struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Cedrik Van der Veeren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for K. If Werner Neefs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edward Tarka might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lennart Mathy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Tarka ran back to his position shaking his head. Cedrik Van der Veeren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeff Van Kestbeek in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind K. Olsa Brakel's goalkeeper Lennart Mathy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Carel Diericx fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored K. Olsa Brakel's protests and gave Carel Diericx a yellow card for diving instead. Jeff Van Kestbeek might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cedrik Van der Veeren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeff Van Kestbeek ran back to his position shaking his head. K. Olsa Brakel's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
