Edgard Vereeken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennert Puttemas in the 4th minute of the match. In the 7th minute Lennert Puttemas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Vereeken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nick Henskens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Edgard Vereeken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claus Winnepennincks charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claus Winnepennincks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 18 minutes, Werner Coopmans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Helson's supporters crossed their fingers, but Werner Coopmans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennert Puttemas in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Helson's goalkeeper Edgard Vereeken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Christoph Davus in the 25th minute really tested Andreas Wynant's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Lennert Puttemas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Edgard Vereeken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Vereeken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennert Puttemas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 minutes of play, Royal Antwerp FC's Nick Henskens made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgard Vereeken was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Royal Antwerp FC's Nick Henskens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edgard Vereeken. That made the score 1-2 after 52 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremy Blommaert in the 58th minute of play forced Royal Antwerp FC's goalkeeper Andreas Wynant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes of play, FC Helson's Werner Coopmans made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andreas Wynant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andreas Wynant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeremy Blommaert's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. A collision led to FC Helson getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Kevin Vanden Bossche hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the game, Nick Henskens recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edgard Vereeken. Nick Henskens showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. The referee gave FC Helson a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Christoph Davus, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Royal Antwerp FC's Andreas Wynant. 3-3. Werner Coopmans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Wynant having to interfere. 98 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp FC's goal looked a bit too open when Werner Coopmans came free, but Andreas Wynant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
