After some careless play in the Royal Antwerp FC defense, Mitch De Beer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andreas Wynant. The Royal Antwerp FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andreas Wynant should have stopped the shot. In the 16thth minute of the game Mitch De Beer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Royal Antwerp FC's Andreas Wynant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andreas Wynant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Constant Bauwmans in the 18th minute of play. Andreas Wynant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mitch De Beer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Royal Antwerp FC's zone, Glenn Geerts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andreas Wynant came out of the goal and Glenn Geerts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Glenn Geerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dominic Vissenaekens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Henskens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andreas Wynant came out of the goal and Glenn Geerts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glenn Geerts took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andreas Wynant. Andreas Wynant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 38th minute, Glenn Geerts made a precise shot to the right of Andreas Wynant. Royal Antwerp FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Andreas Wynant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glenn Geerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dries Van der Poorten's late challenge caught a Erembodegem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dries Van der Poorten helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Royal Antwerp FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Dries Van der Poorten hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Lennert Puttemas struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Dominic Vissenaekens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal Antwerp FC. Dominic Vissenaekens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Henskens in the 59th minute of play. Erembodegem's Dominic Vissenaekens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennert Puttemas in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Ralf Decock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal Antwerp FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Erembodegem the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Royal Antwerp FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralf Decock to maneuver through the defense. When Royal Antwerp FC's Lennert Puttemas in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Royal Antwerp FC. Mitch De Beer got in the 89th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Andreas Wynant handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitch De Beer in the 94th minute of play forced Royal Antwerp FC's goalkeeper Andreas Wynant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mitch De Beer came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Erembodegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mitch De Beer couldn't finish the play. The Royal Antwerp FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Erembodegem were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
