Wellen's supporters rose to their feet, but Daan Wigers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernt Decremer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Bijvoorde's Henrik Uyttebroeck got a free kick in the 21st minute. The referee showed Dyllan Machiels the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Steff Holemans to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Wouter Vandamme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wellen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wouter Vandamme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute, Daan Wigers fired away a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacobus Van Den Broek in the 70th minute of play forced Bijvoorde's goalkeeper Bernt Decremer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bijvoorde's zone, Jacobus Van Den Broek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernt Decremer came out of the goal and Jacobus Van Den Broek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 74th minute of the match Dyllan Machiels completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dyllan Machiels a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. When Daan Wigers fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wellen's protests and gave Daan Wigers a yellow card for diving instead.
