Rotem's Dave Leerbels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Rotem from getting a goal against them. Oliver De Peuter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dave Leerbels having to make a save. Dave Leerbels didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geoffry Hermans went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Evere booed when Rotem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieterjan Lache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oliver De Peuter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dave Leerbels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geoffry Hermans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Oliver De Peuter took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Dave Leerbels to make any attempt to save it. Erwin-Alexander Verheijd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Versluys in the 35th minute of the match. Geoffry Hermans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ben Vansteenbrugge charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ben Vansteenbrugge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rotem's Balthazar Gyselinckx couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Evere. The audience was convinced that Stef Maeijnaerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erwin-Alexander Verheijd was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver De Peuter in the 45th minute of play forced Rotem's goalkeeper Dave Leerbels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rotem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Evere the free kick. Joachim Versluys hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. When Geoffry Hermans came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Evere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geoffry Hermans couldn't finish the play. Oliver De Peuter might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dave Leerbels. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oliver De Peuter ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute of the match Maarten Weygaers shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dave Leerbels showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Evere's Laurend Armentier got a free kick in the 87th minute. During the 89th minute of the match Ben Vansteenbrugge completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ben Vansteenbrugge a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
