Brent Van Achtens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luckas Coekx's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 41st minute, Stef Maeijnaerts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the purperboys defense, Stef Maeijnaerts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brent Van Achtens. The purperboys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brent Van Achtens should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stef Maeijnaerts to strike the kick off in the second half. Though ot was a great shot purperboys's keeper Brent Van Achtens was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. With his leg Brent Van Achtens managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Rotem's Joachim Versluys fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stef Maeijnaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rotem's Stef Maeijnaerts was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 78th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Stef Maeijnaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Brent Van Achtens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Rotem's Pieterjan Lache nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brent Van Achtens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rotem. Rotem played a much better game than purperboys and deserved their victory. The purperboys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
