Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Benne Ghesels made the kick off which started today's match. When Alphonse Van Aerschodt came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Vanrunkelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alphonse Van Aerschodt couldn't finish the play. After having played for 15 minutes, Brend Smets managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanrunkelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brend Smets was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brend Smets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Jasper Van Hoovelt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Alphonse Van Aerschodt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jasper Van Hoovelt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Vanrunkelen's goal looked a bit too open when Geordy Ballette came free, but Manu Nelleboedske reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Brend Smets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manu Nelleboedske showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geordy Ballette in the 28th minute of the match. Roderik Ravoet hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Robbrecht Hoeybroeck, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Ehsal getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Roderik Ravoet hit a great ball. Robbrecht Hoeybroeck, 34 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 35th match minute, Ehsal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommie Nys to maneuver through the defense. Brend Smets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jasper Van Hoovelt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vanrunkelen's Manu Nelleboedske played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benne Ghesels in the 45th minute of play. Geordy Ballette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manu Nelleboedske having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Alphonse Van Aerschodt made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brend Smets in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jasper Van Hoovelt saved Ehsal from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alphonse Van Aerschodt in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jasper Van Hoovelt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brend Smets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alphonse Van Aerschodt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jasper Van Hoovelt having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Ehsal's goal looked a bit too open when Brend Smets came free, but Jasper Van Hoovelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brend Smets in the 79th minute of play forced Ehsal's goalkeeper Jasper Van Hoovelt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jasper Van Hoovelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brend Smets in the 81st minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Brend Smets managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanrunkelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brend Smets was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Alphonse Van Aerschodt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vanrunkelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Alphonse Van Aerschodt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jasper Van Hoovelt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alphonse Van Aerschodt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benne Ghesels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Vanrunkelen players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
