Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Geoffrey Bautmans got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Anton De Kerpel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manu Nelleboedske stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geoffrey Bautmans's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Brend Smets might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ief Schipmans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brend Smets ran back to his position shaking his head. When Alphonse Van Aerschodt came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Vanrunkelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alphonse Van Aerschodt couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Brend Smets ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ief Schipmans was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Brend Smets came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Vanrunkelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brend Smets couldn't finish the play. Ief Schipmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alphonse Van Aerschodt in the 21st minute of play. When Alphonse Van Aerschodt came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Vanrunkelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alphonse Van Aerschodt couldn't finish the play. After 29 minutes of play, Vanrunkelen's Brend Smets made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ief Schipmans was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, KAA Nieuwkerke's Ief Schipmans got control of the ball when Brend Smets tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lennart Sterks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Alphonse Van Aerschodt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ief Schipmans was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. 45 minutes into the match, KAA Nieuwkerke's goalkeeper Ief Schipmans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brend Smets. Lennart Sterks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manu Nelleboedske having to interfere.

Ief Schipmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alphonse Van Aerschodt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ief Schipmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alphonse Van Aerschodt in the 62nd minute of the match. Brend Smets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ief Schipmans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brend Smets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Yvan Toeback managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vanrunkelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Yvan Toeback was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ief Schipmans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Alphonse Van Aerschodt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vanrunkelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Alphonse Van Aerschodt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ief Schipmans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vanrunkelen's Manu Nelleboedske proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Vanrunkelen from getting a goal against them. Brend Smets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. KAA Nieuwkerke's Ief Schipmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alphonse Van Aerschodt in the 93rd minute of play. In the 96th minute Lennart Sterks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manu Nelleboedske saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
