Vanrunkelen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Robbrecht Hoeybroeck in the 15th minute. The corner ended in Robbrecht Hoeybroeck almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Maccabi Tilly-Aviv's Diedrik Vandamme did a great save. In the 19th match minute, Maccabi Tilly-Aviv was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guy Henrix to maneuver through the defense. If Alphonse Van Aerschodt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brend Smets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hugo Wuttemans fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vanrunkelen's protests and gave Hugo Wuttemans a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Vanrunkelen got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Wuttemans. Guy Henrix hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Brend Smets might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diedrik Vandamme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diedrik Vandamme was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dirk Van Boeckost. In the 76th minute, Alphonse Van Aerschodt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brend Smets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diedrik Vandamme having to interfere. If Brend Smets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brend Smets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brend Smets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Diedrik Vandamme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guy Henrix ran back to his position shaking his head. Vanrunkelen played a much better game than Maccabi Tilly-Aviv and deserved their victory. The Maccabi Tilly-Aviv players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
