After 9 minutes, Richard Verdonk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fort Huntington and the Bl players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Fort Huntington got a freekick which was hit by Richard Verdonk. Fort Huntington's Henry Calewaerts got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henry Calewaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Benoit Wuttemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bl's Benoit Wuttemans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henri Willems in the 18th minute of play. Charles-Louis Pardons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakob Valckeners, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 25thth minute of the game Henri Willems who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bl's Benoit Wuttemans was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Jakob Valckeners had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henri Willems struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Benoit Wuttemans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fort Huntington. Henry Calewaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benoit Wuttemans having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Fort Huntington got a freekick which was hit by Dreas Conincx. Werner Van de Leest blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charles-Louis Pardons having to make a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The supporters of Bl booed when Fort Huntington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tor-Magnus Stålhammar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henri Willems in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benoit Wuttemans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Bl's zone, Henry Calewaerts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benoit Wuttemans came out of the goal and Henry Calewaerts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Henri Willems had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Calewaerts might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benoit Wuttemans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henry Calewaerts ran back to his position shaking his head. Benoit Wuttemans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henri Willems, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henry Calewaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benoit Wuttemans having to interfere.
