With an extended leg and a bit of luck Greg Van Castel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Geordy Englebert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. Karl Rockeloos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Laureys read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. When Geert-Jan Verhelst fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Laakdal's protests and gave Geert-Jan Verhelst a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st match minute, Club Laakdal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geert-Jan Verhelst to maneuver through the defense. Geordy Englebert might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Greg Van Castel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When Basiel Van Dessel came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Itegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basiel Van Dessel couldn't finish the play. Geordy Englebert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Greg Van Castel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Basiel Van Dessel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Geordy Englebert came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Itegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geordy Englebert couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 73 in the game by Karl Rockeloos from a close distance when the talented Dante Laureys managed to make a qualified save. Itegem's players were relieved. In the 75th minute, Basiel Van Dessel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the game, Cornelis De Coninck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Laakdal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itegem the free kick. The supporters of Itegem booed when Club Laakdal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelis De Coninck didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Itegem had played much better football throughout.
