Alphonse de la Croix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolphe Walters in the 30th minute of play forced Noordhofwijk's goalkeeper Alphonse de la Croix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Noordhofwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Arnold Vandenbosch came free, but Alphonse de la Croix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnold Vandenbosch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alphonse de la Croix was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Adolphe Walters ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot by Willy Celis from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Alphonse de la Croix's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 65th minute, Adolphe Walters got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Arnold Vandenbosch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lopidato FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnold Vandenbosch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alphonse de la Croix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adolphe Walters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alphonse de la Croix having to interfere.
