Sebbe Van Meerbeec took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alphonse de la Croix. Alphonse de la Croix dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Andre De Brouwers short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Alphonse de la Croix to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sebbe Van Meerbeec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alphonse de la Croix having to interfere. Alphonse de la Croix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebbe Van Meerbeec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 played minutes Noordhofwijk got a freekick which was hit by Remy Kesters. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andre De Brouwer got free with Alphonse de la Croix in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Mitch Deflandre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Fc De Tommies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olivier Poortmans to maneuver through the defense. Wes Louckx struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Alphonse de la Croix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc De Tommies. In the 33rd minute, Andre De Brouwer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alphonse de la Croix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebbe Van Meerbeec, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The supporters of Fc De Tommies booed when Noordhofwijk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remy Kesters didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andre De Brouwer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sebbe Van Meerbeec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Georges Leyman came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Noordhofwijk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georges Leyman couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Andre De Brouwer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc De Tommies's Lennart De Mesemaekre couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Noordhofwijk. The audience thought a goal was coming when Georges Leyman got free with Levi Van de Goor in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Henri-Patrick Uijterhoven fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Noordhofwijk's protests and gave Henri-Patrick Uijterhoven a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Noordhofwijk fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! In the 77th minute, Georges Leyman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Levi Van de Goor was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After having played for 85 minutes, Andre De Brouwer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc De Tommies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andre De Brouwer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 90 minutes, Godfried van der Eycken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
