Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5626, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) Dante De Wortelaers started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. But to his dismay, Reinard Sustens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dante De Wortelaers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mateo Maertens having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante De Wortelaers in the 18th minute of play forced Zerkegem's goalkeeper Mateo Maertens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of VC Ganshoren booed when Zerkegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred De Custer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joris Van Hespe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfried De Smet, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Reinard Sustens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Koen Uyttebroeck fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VC Ganshoren's protests and gave Koen Uyttebroeck a yellow card for diving instead. The VC Ganshoren fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Paul-Louis Gobbelijns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Maertens having to interfere. After 95 minutes of play VC Ganshoren's Koen Uyttebroeck was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
