After having played for 38 minutes, Christoph Caspers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Boterpot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christoph Caspers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Nijvel's zone, Christoph Caspers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denis Deroek came out of the goal and Christoph Caspers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AFC Nijvel's Denis Deroek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Maerschalks in the 43rd minute of play. Christoph Caspers might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denis Deroek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christoph Caspers ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Denis Deroek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Maerschalks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, FC Boterpot's Denis Deroek threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nestor Maerschalks, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabrice Strupar in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yves Hollants prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christoph Caspers made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 63rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Denis Deroek would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The tension between the FC Boterpot and the AFC Nijvel players grew even worse after the yellow card. The coaching staff of FC Boterpot protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Evert-Jan Henskens had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of FC Boterpot:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AFC Nijvel:s goal. There was no doubt that AFC Nijvel were the better team. AFC Nijvel's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
