Spectators: 7414 (Terracing: 5636, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tommas Van Turnhout started the match with the kick off. KV Mechelen's Adam Van Beetz got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adam Van Beetz came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hector Omblet could save by the left post. 13 minutes into the match, Bergwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Tommas Van Turnhout came free, but Hector Omblet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rik Meynen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute Hendrik Stas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles De Koning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Bergwijk's Hendrik Stas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles De Koning narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Richey De Jong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, KV Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Rik Meynen came free, but Charles De Koning reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charles De Koning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hendrik Stas in the 36th minute of the match. Richey De Jong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charles De Koning showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hendrik Stas, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Richey De Jong to make the kick off. The supporters of Bergwijk booed when KV Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorre Celis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richey De Jong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles De Koning having to interfere. Bergwijk's Hendrik Stas got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Bergwijk's Richey De Jong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles De Koning narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Hendrik Stas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charles De Koning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richey De Jong in the 71st minute of play. When Tommas Van Turnhout came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the KV Mechelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommas Van Turnhout couldn't finish the play. Adam Van Beetz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Charles De Koning showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richey De Jong, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Bergwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Van Beetz came free, but Hector Omblet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Rik Meynen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bergwijk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KV Mechelen the free kick. Rik Meynen kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Hector Omblet came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by KV Mechelen's Tommas Van Turnhout. But to his dismay, Tommas Van Turnhout quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Richey De Jong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hendrik Stas came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Bergwijk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hendrik Stas couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Richey De Jong fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bergwijk players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for KV Mechelen.
