Albert Verelst might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Will De Boeck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albert Verelst ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Jozef Renso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerrit Storms was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. If Jozef Renso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Will De Boeck managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when KSV Lambermont's Sammy De Smedt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 25th match minute, KVV Zelzate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willy Van Der Taelen to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Mathieux Olemans managed to get in a good position for a shot. KSV Lambermont's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathieux Olemans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Will De Boeck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th match minute, KSV Lambermont was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tibo Demarrez to maneuver through the defense. When Willy Van Der Taelen fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KVV Zelzate's protests and gave Willy Van Der Taelen a yellow card for diving instead. Sammy De Smedt was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 38th minute. KSV Lambermont's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sammy De Smedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Will De Boeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sammy De Smedt struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Will De Boeck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KSV Lambermont. Will De Boeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Verelst in the 46th minute of play. Sammy De Smedt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The audience was convinced that Albert Verelst's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Will De Boeck was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 66th minute Albert Verelst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will De Boeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute, KVV Zelzate's Jozef Renso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Will De Boeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy De Smedt in the 76th minute of play. Albert Verelst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will De Boeck having to interfere. In the 85thth minute of the game Tibo Demarrez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KVV Zelzate's Will De Boeck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 87th minute, Sammy De Smedt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Sammy De Smedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Verelst in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Will De Boeck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. KVV Zelzate were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over KSV Lambermont's much stronger midfield.
