Remco Smets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jammy Van Beets, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Yanis Kerselaers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Luukas Vranx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cederik Ooms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luuk Kloots fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cederik Ooms having to interfere. Cederik Ooms showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luuk Kloots, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th match minute, Sassport Boezinge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorg Slegers to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Sassport Boezinge were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yanis Kerselaers made a kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Merge Panch's goal looked a bit too open when Yanis Kerselaers came free, but Remco Smets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Sassport Boezinge's Remco Smets threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yanis Kerselaers, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Luuk Kloots had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Merge Panch's supporters rose to their feet, but Luuk Kloots was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cederik Ooms breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yanis Kerselaers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remco Smets having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Merge Panch's zone, Yanis Kerselaers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remco Smets came out of the goal and Yanis Kerselaers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sassport Boezinge were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Merge Panch's much stronger midfield.
