Franky Goethals showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Hunaerts in the 12th minute of the match. The supporters of The End is Near booed when Ol Dirty Bastards was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieter Cremers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herbert de Pelsmakere kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Alan De Ketelaere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franky Goethals saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gillis Ghesels's late challenge caught a Ol Dirty Bastards's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gillis Ghesels helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Gillis Ghesels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ol Dirty Bastards's Michel Bormans got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 27 minutes, Michel Bormans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ol Dirty Bastards's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Bormans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Daniel Hunaerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alan De Ketelaere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Franky Goethals tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Jorge Audenaert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ol Dirty Bastards's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Audenaert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Hunaerts to make the kick off. In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Ol Dirty Bastards. Bas De Vreese stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bart-Jan Vranx. 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gillis Ghesels got free with Franky Goethals in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Ol Dirty Bastards's Franky Goethals got control of the ball when Alan De Ketelaere tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ol Dirty Bastards's Michel Bormans got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronny Kersselaers hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
