Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Steven Leempoels took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Landen's zone, Harold De Hertoge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pieter-Jan Minnen came out of the goal and Harold De Hertoge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute, KV Lanaken's Harold De Hertoge fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Pieter-Jan Minnen was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Basiel De Brouwer didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 13th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Steven Leempoels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basiel De Brouwer having to interfere. Basiel De Brouwer came out of the goal and Kurt Schepmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basiel De Brouwer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Leempoels in the 21st minute of play. Kurt Schepmans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Basiel De Brouwer made a huge save. Eric Van Beringen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Jan Minnen having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eric Van Beringen in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pieter-Jan Minnen saved Landen from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Richard Langendonckx during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Basiel De Brouwer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Leempoels, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When Kurt Schepmans came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Landen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Schepmans couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eric Van Beringen in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pieter-Jan Minnen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Leempoels in the 58th minute of play forced KV Lanaken's goalkeeper Basiel De Brouwer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1-1 became the score in the 60th minute when Eric Van Beringen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Landen's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Van Beringen came free, but Pieter-Jan Minnen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoor Voorhof hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Landen's Balthazar Dedecker got a free kick in the 68th minute. After 70 minutes of play Landen's Balthazar Dedecker was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Balthazar Dedecker kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Gaetan Van Landschoot took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pieter-Jan Minnen. Landen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Harold De Hertoge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurt Schepmans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basiel De Brouwer having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Eric Van Beringen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Landen's goalkeeper Pieter-Jan Minnen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harold De Hertoge. If Kurt Schepmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eric Van Beringen came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the KV Lanaken fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eric Van Beringen couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the match, KV Lanaken's Harold De Hertoge sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pieter-Jan Minnen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, Landen's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Van Beringen came free, but Pieter-Jan Minnen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric Van Beringen struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Pieter-Jan Minnen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KV Lanaken. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
