Mathias Van Impe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederick Van Gijsel having to interfere. With his leg Frederick Van Gijsel managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when KVSK De Geite's Mathias Van Impe fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kortsele's Aime Netels got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Aime Netels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcus Hendricks hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Viktor De Smedt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kenney De Maret. KVSK De Geite's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 21st minute Joachim Van Hoeijveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederick Van Gijsel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kenney De Maret showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lex Custermans in the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Mathias Van Impe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVSK De Geite's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Van Impe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcus Hendricks kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. If Aime Netels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Aime Netels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenney De Maret saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aime Netels stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daevy Van Hoegaerden during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Kortsele getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Daevy Van Hoegaerden hit a great ball. Mathias Van Impe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Frederick Van Gijsel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Van Impe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederick Van Gijsel having to interfere. Joachim Van Hoeijveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Frederick Van Gijsel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Lex Custermans cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Kenney De Maret took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aime Netels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, KVSK De Geite's goal looked a bit too open when Aime Netels came free, but Kenney De Maret reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
