The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, KVSK De Geite's goalkeeper Kenney De Maret had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Balckmans. In the 12th minute, Patrick Balckmans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The white glove fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 16th match minute, KVSK De Geite was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Hendricks to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, white glove's Ivan Van Huyck tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Joachim Van Hoeijveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remie Impens having to interfere. When Mathias Van Impe came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the KVSK De Geite fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias Van Impe couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the game, Ward Van de Goor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. white glove's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KVSK De Geite the free kick. After 30 played minutes white glove got a freekick which was hit by Ward Van de Goor. Patrick Balckmans struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Kenney De Maret didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for white glove. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick Balckmans got free with Kenney De Maret in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Samuel Rutten fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KVSK De Geite's protests and gave Samuel Rutten a yellow card for diving instead. Samuel Rutten hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Mathias Van Impe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of KVSK De Geite booed when white glove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Van Herendael didn't get a good kick on the ball. Louis-Philippe Steenberghs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenney De Maret having to interfere. Louis-Philippe Steenberghs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joachim Van Hoeijveldt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Louis-Philippe Steenberghs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Kenney De Maret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Balckmans in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kenney De Maret prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th minute, Thommy Wagemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, white glove's Ivan Van Huyck tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the KVSK De Geite defense, Patrick Balckmans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenney De Maret. The KVSK De Geite fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenney De Maret should have stopped the shot. 74 minutes into the match, white glove's goalkeeper Remie Impens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mathias Van Impe. Remie Impens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Van Hoeijveldt in the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Joachim Van Hoeijveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. KVSK De Geite's supporters rose to their feet, but Joachim Van Hoeijveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remie Impens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louis-Philippe Steenberghs in the 84th minute of play forced KVSK De Geite's goalkeeper Kenney De Maret to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd match minute, white glove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ward Van de Goor to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 98 minutes, Patrick Balckmans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. white glove's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Balckmans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. white glove's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
