Stephan De Meulder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, KMSK DEINZE's goal looked a bit too open when Bryan Imbrechs came free, but Stephan De Meulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bryan Imbrechs struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Stephan De Meulder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Antwerp. Gustaaf Janss short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Stephan De Meulder to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bryan Imbrechs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustaaf Jans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephan De Meulder having to interfere. After 26 minutes, Henrik Jannis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Antwerp and the KMSK DEINZE players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stephan De Meulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Imbrechs in the 29th minute of the match. Kristof Wuyts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Smekens in the 33rd minute of the match. Stephan De Meulder made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Gustaaf Jans sent off a good shot on target. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bryan Imbrechs to make the kick off. Bryan Imbrechs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mitch Cuejvers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 60 minutes into the match, KMSK DEINZE's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Jans came free, but Stephan De Meulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Imbrechs in the 61st minute of play forced KMSK DEINZE's goalkeeper Stephan De Meulder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bryan Imbrechs in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stephan De Meulder saved KMSK DEINZE from getting behind. 66 minutes into the match, KMSK DEINZE's goal looked a bit too open when Bryan Imbrechs came free, but Stephan De Meulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustaaf Jans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustaaf Jans might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stephan De Meulder. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Jans ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Antwerp's Kristof Wuyts got control of the ball when Eddy Smekens tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bryan Imbrechs in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stephan De Meulder saved KMSK DEINZE from getting behind. In the 79th minute Mitch Cuejvers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristof Wuyts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Bryan Imbrechs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stephan De Meulder. KMSK DEINZE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bryan Imbrechs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Bryan Imbrechs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Gustaaf Jans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Antwerp fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Antwerp's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
