The referee ignored SL Benfica's protests and gave Ewout Rijmenams a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SL Benfica getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ewout Rijmenams hit a great ball. If Tom Roofhoof had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 17 in the game by Wannes Eli from a close distance when the talented Yens Baumans managed to make a qualified save. SL Benfica's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ewout Rijmenams in the 20th minute of play forced Sautour's goalkeeper Binjamin Maerschalcx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Binjamin Maerschalcx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koen Hemelaers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 25 minutes, Koen Hemelaers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SL Benfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Koen Hemelaers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gertjan Vrins took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Binjamin Maerschalcx. Binjamin Maerschalcx dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Sautour's Binjamin Maerschalcx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Sautour from getting a goal against them. Binjamin Maerschalcx didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ewout Rijmenams went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score.
