The coaching staff of KFC Gijzegem protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sam Henskens had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Daring Ruddervoorde booed when KFC Gijzegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bass Omblets didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Daring Ruddervoorde's Cedric Haeselaers got a free kick in the 77th minute. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by KFC Gijzegem's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Philippe De Weyngaert was slow to take the kick. During this time Daring Ruddervoorde's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Daring Ruddervoorde's Philippe De Weyngaert to fire away a dangerous shot which Lennart Herinckx despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lennart Herinckx came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Daring Ruddervoorde's Axell De Fauw. But to his dismay, Axell De Fauw quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1.
