The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diederick Heijligem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacques Streels in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute Jordi Smidts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diederick Heijligem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joost De Raeijmaeker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Tessenderlo booed when FC Draconia 2 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordi Smidts didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rob Zimmer in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richey Englebert saved FC Draconia 2 from getting behind. Brent Denijs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richey Englebert having to interfere. In the last second Richey Englebert throw himself and got hold of the ball when Rob Zimmer in the 22ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The supporters of Tessenderlo booed when FC Draconia 2 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Van Herendael didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diederick Heijligem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordi Smidts in the 30th minute of the match. FC Draconia 2's Jordi Smidts got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Rob Zimmer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Richey Englebert, 2-0. Diederick Heijligem came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Draconia 2's Jordi Smidts. But to his dismay, Jordi Smidts quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rob Zimmer to strike the kick off in the second half. If Rob Zimmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven Van Cleijnenbreughel struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Richey Englebert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tessenderlo.
