The referee ignored Schaerbeek F.C's protests and gave Luka Lanphant a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Schaerbeek F.C's Luka Lanphant got a free kick in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Michael vrolijx managed to get in a good position for a shot. CLUB BRUGGE's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael vrolijx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sylven De Coster breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xavier Bauwmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casper De kaiser, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maarten Daniels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 25 minutes into the game, Steve Ourogge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schaerbeek F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CLUB BRUGGE the free kick. In the 25th minute, Steve Ourogge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sylven De Coster didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michael vrolijx went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Schaerbeek F.C's zone, Sebastian Hennes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sylven De Coster came out of the goal and Sebastian Hennes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Casper De kaiser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Michael vrolijx managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 42 minutes Schaerbeek F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jeremy Snoekens who took care of the corner kick. CLUB BRUGGE's Jeremy Snoekens was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sylven De Coster in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in CLUB BRUGGE's zone, Casper De kaiser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xavier Bauwmans came out of the goal and Casper De kaiser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Hennes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Xavier Bauwmans made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Maarten Daniels sent off a good shot on target. After 53 played minutes CLUB BRUGGE got a freekick which was hit by Ron Vranckx. In the 54th match minute, Schaerbeek F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maarten Daniels to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Sebastian Hennes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xavier Bauwmans was a little too slow when Casper De kaiser got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-2. Schaerbeek F.C's Maarten Daniels got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Casper De kaiser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Bauwmans having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, Ron Vranckx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schaerbeek F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 85th match minute, CLUB BRUGGE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Vranckx to maneuver through the defense. After 91 minutes, Fred Van Der Veecken mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schaerbeek F.C and the CLUB BRUGGE players grew even worse after the yellow card.
